Roger Converse Obituary

Survived by his wife Margaret Converse; son Scott (Kathleen) Rich; grandchildren Jocelyn, Jacob and Joshua; sister Janet Kholus; nephews Brennan and Luke Stein.

Rog, Pops, Papa, Uncle Rog touched so many lives in his time with us.  He always had time do the little things and something special for anyone.
Born in Whitestone Queens, NYC, he spent his formative years in Montauk, Long Island. That is where he developed his passion for baseball, fishing and the water. He graduated from East Hampton High School in the Class of ‘61; SUNY Morrisville ‘64; Rochester Institute of Technology ‘67 BS.  Roger worked for Xerox Corp. for over 30 years while achieving an MBA at RIT.

As a loving husband for over 50 years, Roger and Peggy were always together. They shared their lives with love.
Family, Baseball and Community Service were his passions and fulfilled his life.
Rog lived Softball…. In Rec leagues and Competitive Travel Ball, he played into his late sixties.  He left it all on the field every game, was respected by both teammates and competitors.

Dad, Uncle Rog, Papa was always there to throw a ball or kick one. He never missed an opportunity to go to a midnight book sale, movie opening or wear a clown suit to surprise you for you birthday.

He was committed to serving his community throughout his entire adult life.
During his years of involvement with Camp Haccamo and Rotary, he achieved The Paul Harris Fellowship in the early 80’s. He enjoyed his Red Jacket Yacht Club membership which meant he was always working or helping. He became Commodore and spearheaded many projects, improving the quality of the club. And as a long time member of the First Presbyterian Church of Honeoye Falls, he was a Trustee and always offered to volunteer his time and experience.

He has been missed for many years and is now at peace.

Roger will always be in our hearts.

We love you Pops.
