On Saturday, August 17, surrounded by his loving family and after 96 wonderful years of life here on earth, Bill went to be with his Lord and Savior. Married to Shirley Anne Clust in 1952, with 67 years of marriage, he leaves behind seven children Diane Buell, Denise McNulty, Alane (Lary) Coia, Michele (Dave) Marini, Jim (Donna) Harrington, John (Barb) Harrington and Ellyn (Ron) Brinsko. Bill had 25 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren whom he cherished dearly.
Bill was a retired naval aviator instructor with the US Navy in Texas and Florida during WWII and also was a retiree from Exxon/Mobile Corp. He was a past Commander of the American Legion Post 941. Bill was an avid golfer playing in numerous leagues in Churchville, Perry and his winter home at Patrick Air Force Base in Cocoa Beach, FL. He enjoyed his summer months at their lake house in Perry on Silver Lake and his winter home in Merritt Island, Florida.
Friends are invited to join his family to share their stories on Monday, August 26 at the James R. Gray Funeral Home, 1530 Buffalo Rd with visitation from 3 pm to 7 pm. On Tuesday, August 27 at 11:00 am friends and family are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph’s Church, 8 Park St in the Village of Perry. Interment at St Joseph’s cemetery will immediately follow the mass.
