Albert H. Foos, Jr.
February 16, 2022. At the age of 96, Bert passed peacefully at home in the same fashion in which he lived his life - on his own terms. Predeceased by his wife, Lucille; 2nd wife, Maureen and son, William (Ruth) Foos. He is survived and will be missed by his daughters, Catherine Battaglia, Molly McGrath, Susan Drouin, Judy Demler; sons, Bob & Ted (Andrea) Foos; numerous grandchildren & great grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank caring neighbors Rick & Karen Martin and family friend & caregiver Mike Smalt for their kindness, support and assistance to Bert.
Bert was a loving father, husband, and friend to many. He was an avid sportsman for most of his life, hunting and fishing into his 80s. Eventually he hung up the gun, stopped hunting birds and turned to watching them instead. However, for some reason, most of the squirrels that visited his birdfeeder would eventually succumb to lead poisoning. Bert enjoyed the outdoors whether gardening, hiking, bird watching, doing yard work, or visiting with family and friends on his back deck while enjoying the view & a beverage. As a Catholic he heartily celebrated his faith by having seven children and occasionally serving as a lector at Sunday masses. He was sharp minded to the end and always had a knack for conversation and a laugh. He was loved by his children and adored by his grandchildren & great grandchildren. For these reasons and more he will be dearly missed.
Family will receive friends at St. Catherine’s Church in Mendon, NY at 10:30 am Friday March 4th, a funeral mass will follow at 11am. Family respectfully requests masks be worn.
