On July 7, 2026, Alice passed away peacefully at age 92. She is predeceased by her husband Theodore B. Spath; son Tom Spath; brother Richard McQuillen; and sister Mary Bush.
She is survived by her children Kevin (Cat Guthrie) Spath, Cindy (Cameron) MacDonald, Julie Hetterich, Mike (Mary Jo) Spath, Matt (Stephanie) Spath; grandchildren Sarah & Stephen Hetterich, Patrick, Kevin, & Megan Spath, Kaitlin (Tyler Davis) and Bridget (Craig Mckinnon) Spath, Emily Spath, Susannah & Caroline Spath; daughter-in-law Lisa Spath; niece Margaret Puccia and her daughter Kristen Storino.
Alice was a wonderful mother and friend. She connected with people easily and knew exactly what they needed. She loved to entertain, especially up in Old Forge, NY. Alice loved gardening and the outdoors. She also enjoyed her years working at Family First Credit Union where she became a loan officer with her own website "Go Ask Alice" and developed long lasting friendships with members and staff. Her family wishes to thank Chantell and her amazing staff on the 5th floor at St. Ann's Home for their love and care of Alice.
Friends and family are invited to a Funeral Mass at the Chapel at Saint Ann's, located at 1500 Portland Ave on Monday July 20, 2026 at 12 PM. Private interment in Saint Joseph's cemetery in Utica, NY. The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider a donation in Alice's name to St. Ann's Home, 1500 Portland Avenue, Rochester, NY 14621.
