Brad dedicated 27 years of his life to Harvard University Dining Services, where he made significant contributions to improving the quality of services and fostering connections within the community. He built strong teams and led by being present, having an open ear and heart, and seeing the strengths within people. Even during his treatment at Unity Health, Brad formed meaningful connections, including with his doctor, who was a student at Harvard during Brad's tenure.
Brad had a passion for transportation; particularly buses, cars, and trains. He maintained an extensive and meticulously curated collection of model buses and often stopped to capture photographs of buses he hadn't yet added to his collection. Brad was also a devoted family historian, making great efforts to connect with relatives and document his travels throughout Massachusetts and New York. He had a deep love for history, old barns, and abandoned houses.
Music was another one of Brad's passions. He enjoyed all genres and types, and he could always be found singing regardless of the occasion. Brad had an excellent, though somewhat twisted, sense of humor but always found a laugh in any circumstance. He was known for his unwavering support and sponsorship of friends near and far, living each day to the fullest, one day at a time.
Brad Hartman will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His infectious smile, kind heart, and zest for life will be remembered fondly by his family and friends.
