Brenda touched the lives of so many people. She was a source of strength and inspiration for her family and friends. You could always count on her to help you through a troubled time or to just put a smile on your face. Brenda made you feel like you were the most important person in the world. She spent countless hours writing personalized cards to hundreds of seniors and shut-ins so they would know that they were not alone. Brenda’s loss will be felt by many.
Brenda is survived by her beloved husband of 31 years, Michael Oathout; her children, Michael Lubitow (Tammy), Mark Brewster (Meggan), and Kelly Haney (Philip); her siblings, Dennis Hudson (Barbara) and Debra Burrows; her sister-in-law, Elizabeth Oathout, and nephew, Jesse Rhinehart, who shared a home with Brenda and Michael for many years; along with many cherished grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
The family thanks the Wilmot Cancer Center, with special thanks to her oncologist, Dr. Badri and his team, and the infusion team, especially Sue, Hannah, Olivia and Nicole.
The family wish to invite you to a Celebration of Brenda’s life on Sunday May 24, 2026 beginning at 12 PM at the Wegman Lodge on Zoo Rd in Seneca Park. Please click the link for further details
