Carol Ann Gibson Obituary

Carol Ann Gibson went home to heaven on Thursday, March 26, 2026.

Carol was born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, in 1931, to Leo and Gladys Beauchaine. She began her career at General Electric, where she met her beloved husband, Gibby. Together, they built a life that took them to Burlington, Vermont; Erie, Pennsylvania; Lewisville and Lago Vista, Texas; and Spring Hill and Hudson, Florida.

Carol found joy in the simple and meaningful things in life. She was a wonderful cook, an avid gardener, photographer, crafter and loved to travel. She worked as a President level Avon representative in Pennsylvania and Texas, enjoyed bowling and golfing—proudly achieving a hole-in-one. She was an enthusiastic reader and spent lots of happy hours playing games on her Kindle. Her cherished kitties, Misty and Muffin, brought her companionship and joy.

She was blessed with several dear friends over the years who shared in the activities she loved, and she was a role model to many. Carol was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, and gramma—roles she filled with love and grace.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Gladys Beauchaine and her husband, Quentin “Gibby” Gibson. She is survived by her daughter, Gwen (Tony) Machulskis, and her grandsons, Josh and Matthew. A remembrance of her life will be celebrated at a future time. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to all who lifted her in prayer and friends who helped with her care. We gratefully acknowledge the caring, compassionate support throughout her journey of Pluta Breast Cancer Center team, the URMC Hospice team, and Aurora House.

Donations in Carol’s memory may be made to the organizations mentioned above, or to an animal shelter or library of your choice.

Carol’s warmth, strength, and zest for life will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She is now at peace, reunited with loved ones, and held in God’s loving care. She will be deeply missed.
