Charlotte DaVia (Briggman) Obituary

Charlotte passed peacefully August 2, 2025 with her children by her side. Born in Solvay, New York on April 3, 1938, she lived nearly 65 years in Rochester, New York.

Charlotte drove school buses for many years until her retirement in 2000. She loved knitting, crocheting, jigsaw puzzles and especially her cats! She was the life of the party and always up for any adventure.

Predeceased by her father, Julian Briggman; mother, Eleanor J. Haffey; sisters, Joan Cushing (Bronx, NY), Eleanor Teresa Sherman (Solvay, NY), and Anna May Scheftic (Fabius, NY); best friend and companion, John Maier.

She survived by children Denise (Angelo) Cedeno of Irondequoit, NY; Lisa (Mark) Loeser of Irondequoit, NY; Robert (Nicole) of Winterville, NC; Jennifer (Kevin) Licciardi of Rochester, NY and Michael (Melinda Lemieux) of Chili, NY; grandchildren, Kyle DaVia and Gracie Loeser; great-granddaughter, Ava DaVia; brothers, Mark (Frances) Briggman of Folsom, CA and John (Rita) Briggman of Memphis, NY and many beloved nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Episcopal Church Home and the staff at Rochester Regional Health for their wonderful care and compassion.

Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, August 7, 2025 from 3-5 PM at James R. Gray Funeral Home, 1530 Buffalo Rd. Rochester, NY 14624.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Charlotte's memory to Lollypop Farm or the Open Door Mission.
