Passed away peacefully, while surrounded by her family, on September 30, 2024 due to complications from Sickle Cell Disease. Chrystal is predeceased by her father Lewis Marshall of Columbus, GA and brother-in-law, Ricky Gaines of Palm Bay, FL. She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Chester Martin; daughter, Angela (Rick) Watkins; son, Alexander Martin; mother, Rosa Marshall of Melbourne, FL; sister, Katherine Gaines of Palm Bay, FL; brothers, Mark Marshall of Palm Bay, FL and Jeffrey (Christina) Marshall of Merritt Island, FL; sisters-in-law Sandra Martin and Patricia Martin; brother-in-law Darryl Martin; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
Chrystal was a 19+ year Para Professional and Teaching Assistant with the Rochester City School District, currently assigned to Mary McLeod Bethune School #45, working primarily with autistic and other special needs students. She was also a faithful member of Open Door Baptist Church for the past 35 years.
Friends are invited to call on Monday, October 7th from 3 PM to 6 PM at James R. Gray Funeral Home, 1530 Buffalo Rd., Rochester, NY 14624. A Celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, October 8th, beginning at 11 AM at Open Door Baptist Church, 350 Scottsville-Chili Rd., Churchville, NY 14428.
