Colleen D. (Gilroy) DeMonte

We are heartbroken to announce the death of our mother Colleen (Gilroy) DeMonte. She passed away peacefully at the age of 69 surrounded by her loved ones. She was predeceased by her grandmother whom she cherished, Estelle Camp, and her loving parents Liston "Gil" and Shirley Gilroy. Colleen is survived by her beloved husband of 49 years, Nick; her children Connie (TJ) Circhirillo, Nicole Frick and Jon Frick; grandchildren LaReina, Jack, Raquel and Izabelle; and sister Sharlene (Steve) Price. Colleen had many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends whom she adored, special God-daughter Marissa Counts, and her dear friend Connie DiNitto. Colleen loved her time as an employee of St. Mary’s. She was also a dedicated and well respected employee of the USPS for 25 years. She impacted so many lives and was the epitome of kindness. Colleen had a way of making all of her loved ones feel equally important. Our family would like to thank Roberto Quiñones and all of the caretakers that treated Colleen at RRH, Golisano Restorative Neurology Rehabilitation, and Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center. She will be dearly missed.

A Celebration of Life Mass will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 beginning at 10:30 AM at Spiritus Christi Church, 121 Fitzhugh Street, Rochester, NY 14614. Please do not park in the lot across Fitzhugh St. as it is for City Hall permitted vehicles only. Limited parking is available on the street.
