It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of David “Princess” Harris, who departed this world on November 3, 2024, at the age of 69.
Dave was a man who thrived on living boldly, often unpredictable, but always with good intentions at heart.
He was known for his boundless generosity, unconventional humor, and his unique ability to push every single boundary he encountered.
He believed that life was far too short to take too seriously, and his mantra—“Give it all away”—wasn't just about material things, but also about time, humor, and most importantly: love.
Dave‘s love for pushing the envelope meant that he often found himself doing things most of us would deem, well, “questionable.” Though his daring escapades might have earned him quite a few raised eyebrows, they also earned him a loyal following of friends, family, and pets.
Dave will be missed not for his perfect record (which he’d admit he didn’t have), but for his perfect heart.
He is survived by his son Kevin; his longtime partner Anna; his ex-wife Sue, and his step-cat Henry, who all took care of him together during his last weeks of life. Something his friends say only he could have pulled off.
In lieu of flowers, Dave would ask that you make a donation to Rochester’s Bethany House, take someone out to lunch, or just tell a good story to make someone laugh.
Rest in peace, Dave, Princess, Honey Bear. May you continue to live on the edge, wherever you are now.
