David Robert Holt

David Robert Holt, 70, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, April 12, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born on August 28, 1955.

He was predeceased by his father, Robert A. Holt, and his mother, Moira H. Holt (Burgess), of Lewiston, NY.

David is survived by his beloved wife, Ruth Holt (Kahley); his sons Justin R. Holt of Churchville, NY, and Jason McDonnell of Niagara Falls, NY; his daughter, Tania Stafford (Frank) of Apex, NC; his grandsons, Matthew Sadler of Durham, NC, Dylan Stafford of Apex, NC, Lyric McDonnell of Niagara Falls, NY, and Deagan McDonnell of Niagara Falls, NY; and his sister, Gail Holt Newbury of Grand Island, NY.

David loved the outdoors, especially hunting, camping, and fishing, and found great peace and enjoyment in nature throughout his life. He was also a supporter of Native American culture and arts, which he deeply respected and appreciated. He was a member of the Moose Lodge 2244 and American Legion Post 1830. He was a skilled carpenter and talented artist who took great pride in his craftsmanship and creativity. He will be remembered for his strength, dedication to his family, and the quiet way he shared his many talents.

In accordance with his wishes, David has been cremated and no services are planned at this time. The family will share any future arrangements when they are made.
