Debra C. Hoppough

Debra passed away peacefully on June 15, 2026, from brain cancer. She is predeceased by her parents Robert and Olive Miller; sister Sherry Nichols and nephew Scott McKellar. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Thomas Hoppough; their daughters Suzanne (Neil) Blecher and Cynthia Meddaugh; grandchildren Danielle and Connor Meddaugh, Nathan and Sloane Blecher; sister-in-law Pat Dano, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Debbie was a graduate of Charlotte High School, and Miss McCarthy’s School of Business. She retired from Monroe County Department of Social Services in 2005. Debbie was the ultimate people person. Being very social, she was named “Miss Friendly” in high school. Debbie was frequently recognized and remembered years later by people from all segments of her life. Debbie’s family wishes to thank the exceptional people at Wilmot Cancer Institute, U of R Home Care and The Aurora House for their kind and compassionate care.

Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday June 23, 2026, from 4-7 PM at James R. Gray funeral home, 1530 Buffalo Road. Debbie’s funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday June 24, 2026, beginning at 11 AM at Parish of the Holy Family, 4100 Lyell Road. Interment will follow in Holy Ghost Cemetery.
