George Zaromitidis

George Zaromitidis, age 70, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2026. Born in Kastoria, Greece, on January 22, 1956, George was a beloved husband, father, and friend known for his warm conversations and love for community gatherings over a cup of coffee.

George dedicated much of his life to craftsmanship as a skilled machinist. He later pursued his passion for hospitality and became the proud owner of Apollo Restaurant, a beloved local spot where many shared in his joyous spirit and generosity. He treasured the simple pleasures in life and took great joy in chatting with anyone and everyone who crossed his path.

Predeceased by his parents, Kyriaki and Alexios Zaromitidis, and his brother, Yianni Zaromitidis.  George's memory will be cherished by his family and friends.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Parthena Zaromitidis, who stood by his side through life's many journeys. George will also be lovingly remembered by his brother Kosta (Gus) and sister Eleni (Eleftherios) Barbas, along with his children (Jeremy) Alexandra Bullers, Kosmas (Nicole) Zaromitidis, and Yianni (Sarah) Zaromitidis. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: Jonathan, Kostantina, Gianna, Parthena, and George, as well as his great-grandchildren, Tanner and Waylon. Many adoring nieces and nephews will also hold him fondly in their hearts.

George's life was a testament to love, family, and friendship. His tales of wisdom and cheer will be missed yet remembered with great fondness by all those he touched.

Family and Friends are invited to call on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, beginning at 10:00AM, at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 962 East Ave, Rochester, NY 14607. George's Funeral Mass will immediately follow at 11:00AM. Interment in Grove Place Cemetery.
