Gerald “Jerry” Leo Lafferty of Rochester, NY passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on August 29, 2022 at the age of 90.
Jerry leaves behind his loving wife and life partner of 62 years, Elizabeth Jean (England) of Rochester, as well as his three children and their spouses, William “Bill” and Mary Lou “Lou Ann” Lafferty of Rochester; Julie and Jamie Pagano of Rochester; and Janet and Alan Schlageter of Lexington, SC. The humor, kindness, compassion, and care that he embodied will continue to live on through his children and the 7 grandchildren he loved so much – Courtney, Kelsey, Connor, Alexander, Tyler, James and Johnathan. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
Jerry is predeceased by his parents, William L. Lafferty and Eva C. Lafferty (Howes); his son, John E. Lafferty; and four siblings, William H. Lafferty, Jean E. Scott, Roger E. Lafferty, and Theresa Ann Lafferty (SSJ).
As a special note, the Lafferty family would also like to recognize the support of Pat Frearson and her Pat and Her Helpers, LLC team, who cared for Jerry after his 2019 car accident and while a resident at Fleming Point.
A Funeral Mass to celebrate Gerald’s life will take place at 10:00 am on Thursday, September 8, 2022 at St. Christopher Church, 3350 Union Street, North Chili, NY 14514, followed by his burial in Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, 1701 Latta Road, Rochester, NY 14612.
