Irene (Makon) Harris

Irene passed away peacefully on August 24, 2025 at the age of 101. She is predeceased by her husband Walter Harris; son Edward Harris and brother Edwin Makon. She is survived by her sons Leonard (Marianne) and Stephen (Deborah) Harris; grandchildren Mark (Jacqueline) Harris, Rebecca Harris, James (Catherine) Harris, Deborah (Mark) Frisbee and Jayne Harris; 13 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. 

Irene wanted to live to 115 years old, but she didn't quite reach her goal. However, she lived a long life, full of love and enjoyed it all. She especially loved her family, her garden and her flowers. She enjoyed watching the birds, and was masterful when it come to coloring, creating beautiful art. When asked about what the secret was to living such a long and happy life, she would respond by saying, "I always stay busy!" Her family and friends will miss her contagious laughter and smile. 

Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Mass for Irene on  September 17, 2025 at 10 AM at St. Theodore’s Church, 168 Spencerport Rd. Rochester, NY 14606.
