Passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 1, 2025 at age 86.
She is predeceased by her beloved husband Valdemar Arredondo; parents Antonio and Herminia Villagomez; brother Richard J. Villagomez; brothers-in-law Roldan Covarubias and Arnoldo Peña; and sisters-in-law Hermila Villagomez and Mary Arredondo.
She is survived by her children Montiel (Paul) Hancock and Andre (Irma) Arredondo; grandchild Gianna Arredondo; siblings Hilda Covarubias, Cristela Peña, Veronica (Daniel) Ramirez, and Bianca (Arturo) Martinez; many nieces, nephews, and her lifelong friend Emma Cisneros.
Irma was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose greatest joy was creating a loving home for her husband and two children as well as providing counsel, care, and comfort to all those around her. Her nurturing spirit was best displayed in her love of gardening, cooking, and baking. Throughout her life, she could most often be found tending her garden or preparing baked treats for her children, grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.
A rosary service will be conducted on Monday March 10, 2025, starting at 2pm. Live streaming will be available at Irma Arredondo Rosary Service Zoom Link
A Celebration of life will be held in San Antonio, Texas date to be announced.
