James “Jimmy” Henry

Jimmy Henry passed away on December 10, 2024 after a long battle with cancer.  A lifelong resident of Gates, he had also been a part-time resident of the Skyline RV Resort in Darian Lake for many years.  Jimmy spent his career working for CJ Winter and Brinkman Precision, with his sister Kim, before retiring in 2018.

The “Mayor of Eugene Street”, Jimmy was well known throughout the neighborhood he lived and grew up in.  He knew all the neighbors, their families, their needs, and was quick to assist. He could often be seen walking the neighborhood and stopping to talk to whomever he met.  Many of those same people would later send kind words and support when he needed them.

After retirement Jimmy started spending his summers full-time at the Skyline RV resort, accompanied by his faithful dog companion, Ginger.  His Skyline family was very dear to him, and spending time there was one of his greatest joys.  It was only with the support of his Skyline family that Jimmy was able to spend his final summer in his favorite place.   

Jimmy was one of six children, and was blessed with an extremely large, boisterous, and loving extended family.  Sarcastic and gruff at times, underneath he loved fiercely. Jimmy expressed his love for others through acts of kindness or service.  He is predeceased by his parents, brothers Terry and Jack, and sister Kim.  He is survived by Katie, Miranda, Jethro, Johnny and Terrie sisters Sherrie and John Paige and Deanna, three generations of a large, loving, extended family, and countless friends.

Family and friends are invited to visitation on Monday, December 16, from 5-7 PM at James R. Gray Funeral Home, 1530 Buffalo Rd. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 17, beginning at 9:30 AM at St. Theodore’s Church, 168 Spencerport Rd. Interment will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
