Joan K. Quigley

Joan K. Quigley, 83, of Spencerport, NY died July 26, 2020. She was born in Rochester, daughter to
Herman S. Kibbe & Geraldine Kibbe (Mahoney). She was educated at Nazareth Academy and later
attended RBI in Rochester, NY.

In 1958 Joan married Robert V. Quigley at St. John’s Church, Greece , NY. Together they raised 4
children. She is survived by daughters Patti Quigley (Kathy Collins) and Michele Harris (Adam and
children Landry & Haley), and son Tim Quigley (Bridget and children Brienne & Kian). She is
predeceased by her husband Robert V. Quigley (2009), daughter Katherine Quigley (1994) and
brother David Kibbe (2006).

Joan was very proud of her children and grandchildren. Whether it was a musical interest, raising
birds or sports, she wanted to hear all the details!

“It Takes a Village”, was her favorite saying and she lived by those words. She rarely missed a
Village Board meeting, offering suggestions for the betterment of the community. You could often
find her walking the village watering and dead-heading flowers, keeping Union street beautiful. She
would chat with the business owners, village employees and neighbors alike, making connections
and getting the inside scoop.

What kept Joan going was her family, young people and the sounds of the children playing. When
her grandchildren reached school age, her house became the neighborhood bus stop and favorite
afternoon gathering area. She loved beginning each day with the kid’s excited chatter before they
headed off to school.

Joan will be missed by many.

A funeral mass will be held at St. John The Evangelist Church in Spencerport on Saturday, August
1st, at 11:00 AM; Interment immediately following at St. John’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers,
donations may be made to St. Joseph’s Neighborhood Center, Rochester, NY.
