Johanna “Josie” (Lyndon) Finucane

Died April 3, 2024 at age 90. Predeceased by her husband James Finucane; son, Thomas Finucane; daughter-in-law, Linda Finucane; and brother, Thomas Lyndon. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Peggy Petrone (Bill Topping); children, Michael (Barb), Patrick (Paula), Leo, Jimmy, Linda (Tim) O'Connor, Maureen (Rob) Croston, John; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Bridget (Ted) McGraw and brother, Richard (Kathleen) Lyndon of Ireland; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Josie came to America in 1956 from Tarbert Co. Kerry, Ireland to Rochester, NY where she made her home. She worked at St. Mary's Hospital until she retired. She loved listening to Irish music, having tea with friends and spending time with her family.

Josie, called "Pia,” was a devoted grandmother to Joanne (Eric) Swick, Michele (Matt) Murphy, Jeffery (Kristin), Kevin, Kathleen (Matt) Franklin, David (Jacquie), Sean, Megan and Jimmy O'Connor, Haley, Chandler, and Shannon Croston. She adored her great-grandchildren Lillian, Tyler, Jackson, Mason, Aaron, Nathan, Thomas, Michael, Ryan, Cooper, and Hayden. She was a kind, fair, and generous woman and will be missed by all who knew her.

Friends may call Wednesday, April 10, 2024 from 3-7 PM at James R. Gray Funeral Home, 1530 Buffalo Rd. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, April 11, 2024, beginning at 9 AM at St. Monica Church, 831 Genesee Street. Interment will follow in Holy Ghost Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sunset House.
