John "Bernie" Blevins, Jr.

John Blevins 65, passed on July 18th 2023 in Rochester NY, surrounded by his family, after a long courageous fight. John was born in Toledo, Ohio to John and Dorothy Blevins. John attended Evergreen High School and Owens Community College. He is a veteran of the United States Air Force. John worked as a Mechanical Writer and Engineering Logistics at L2 defense Inc and several other automotive companies. John traveled a lot for work and enjoyed what he did. John was so full of life and always on the go. He had a passion for life and enjoyed photography, scuba diving, being around the water and boating. He loved to work with his hands and could build anything. He was in the process of building his dream cabin with his wife Svetlana on their land in Hammondsport, NY. He loved spending time with his family especially his grand babies. 

John was predeceased by both of his parents John and Dorothy Blevins and his sister Katherine Blevins-Russell. 

John is survived by his loving wife Svetlana; children Patrick (Lisa) Blevins, Jennifer (Markquette Snipes) Blevins and Elena (Richard) Hamm; sisters Rebecca Blevins and Martha (Ronald) Ditmyer; grandchildren Kacey Carlisle, Julia Smith, Dominic Foster and Leah Snipes; great grandchildren Ariel and Joshua; nephew Ronald Ditmyer Jr and niece Lindsay Blossom as well as cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.

Per John's wishes there will be no services.

Our family would like to thank the Doctors and Staff at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New York for their tireless efforts and amazing care of John.
