John Grace Obituary

On May 8, 2022 after a long illness. He is survived by his husband and companion of 53 years, Nelson Baldo; sister Rose (Leo) Salmon; nieces Natalie Salmon, Courtney Bower and Anissa Battazzi; nephew Matt Baldo, Romeo, Larry, Anthony and Battazzi. Uncle John will always live on in their hearts. We are grateful to Veteran's Service Officer, Matt Murray, and the staff of the Monroe County Veteran's Service Agency for all of their assistance.

John was a Veteran of the US Air Force. He built and operated Iggy's Study on Park Avenue and worked as a chef at various restaurants. He also worked as a Real Estate Broker, a New York State Certified Instructor of pre-licensing for Real Estate & Broker Licenses. He and Nelson managed Sales & Marketing at Madison Barracks at Sackett's Harbor and also built many homes in Watertown together.

John was an artist who loved music, art and especially food. He was inspired by his muse, mother-in-law Stella Baldo, and his father-in-law Iggy Baldo. He was also a founding partner in Scale 2, a commercial art studio.

For nearly 20 years, John found joy, peace and inspiration in the Catskill Mountains. Now that he is at peace, his ashes will be spread in that place which he loved so much.
