Joe passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on May 26, 2026, at age 78. He is predeceased by his beloved wife of 56 years, Mary Lou Nero; parents Joseph and Helen Nero. He is survived by his children Christine (Richard) Brooks and Jospeh J. (Shannon) Nero Jr.: grandchildren Danielle, Samantha, Troy, Kayla, Briana, Morgan and Brennan; great grandchildren Kingston and Kendelle; siblings Maia Nero, Anthony Nero and Michele Nero; sisters-in-law Stella (Sam) Campanella and Lisa Fanning; brother-in-law Wayne (Lisa) Cavuto; special friends from Sun Valley Campsites where Joe and Mary Lou spent 40+ summers.
Joe served in the US Army after high school. He went on to work for RG&E for over 35 years. In retirement, he enjoyed his John Deere lawnmower, drinking his beer and spending time at his camp. He was a devoted husband and family man who loved his kids and grandkids; all of whom will miss him very much.
