Kathleen M. Cubit

Kathleen "Kathy" M. Cubit, 76, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2025.

She is survived by her loving husband, John A. Cubit; her children, John (Diane) Cubit and Carolyn (Hideaki) Tsutsui; her beloved grandchildren, Ian, Conor, Kiana, and Anaka; and her cherished great-grandchildren Abigail, Lucy, Janice, Emelia, and Belle. She also leaves behind her sister Elizabeth Vetter; nephew Jason (Victoria) Vetter, and many dear friends. Kathy was predeceased by her parents, Howard and Mary Masline, and her brother, David Masline.

Kathy was a proud and active member of the American Legion Auxiliary, serving with Ira J. Jacobson Unit 474 and then Chili Unit 1830 for more than 50 years. She was deeply committed to supporting military families, especially through the Auxiliary's Warrior Family Assistance Program, which was close to her heart.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Kathy will be remembered for her kindness, her love of camping and fishing, and her enjoyment of a good book.

A celebration of Kathy's life will be held in December at the Chili American Legion Post 1830, 450 Scottsville-Chili Rd. Details will be shared once finalized.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kathy's memory to the American Legion Auxiliary's Warrior Family Assistance Program, which supports military service members, honorably discharged veterans, and their families with emergency needs.
