Manuela Pitts

Manuela "Nela" Pitts, born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, was called home on March 12, 2026, at the age of 76. Manuela spent most of her adult life in Monmouth County, New Jersey and proudly embraced being a true "Jersey girl." In the second half of her life, she made her home in Rochester, New York, where she shared 47 years of marriage with her beloved spouse, Osborne L. Pitts, building a life together centered on family, love, and creating memories.

Manuela was born to Evarista Zayas Lorenzi and Carlos Manuel Torres. She was also deeply influenced by her stepfather, Pedro Rodriguez Sr., whose presence in her life held special meaning.

She is survived by her siblings: Margarita Dupree, Yolanda Rodriguez, Maria Torres, Nancy Torres, Ramon Torres Sr., Vincente Torres, Pedro Rodriguez Jr., predeceased by Maritza Torres, Gabriella Davila, and Thomas Torres. 

Manuela was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her children: Heriberto Delgado, Toi R. Masters, Sandra Curry, Oscar Delgado and Vicente Torres. Macc Stephens and Alicia Papalia, who she loved as her own. 

She was the proud grandmother of: Anthony Cosentino, Ivory Hill, Monte Masters, Victoria Cosentino, Cameron Delgado, Kevin Wright Jr., Christopher Delgado, Kiana Delgado, Briana Delgado, LiSandro Wright, Monet Masters, Alexis Delgado, Ciara Delgado, Raven Delgado, Carmela Torres, and Elijah Delgado and 11 great-grandchildren. 

Manuela was loved by many, and her memory will live on in the stories, traditions, and love she shared with those around her.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that monetary donations be made to help support Manuela's memorial gathering and celebration of life. Contributions can be sent to Osborne L. Pitts or Sandra Curry. 

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to all extended family members and friends for their support, love, and remembrance during this time. 

A Celebration of Life is planned for Saturday March 28, 2026, from 1:00PM-5:00PM, at Fidelity Lodge, 136 C.P. Williams Pl Long Branch, NJ 07740.
