Marcus Howe Folts passed away peacefully on November 9, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was predeceased by his parents Marcus and Marion Folts.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Mary Folts (Medema); sons Marcus (Corina), Mike, Matthew (Jamie), James (Wendy), John (Tamra) & Todd (Caroline) Folts; grandchildren Maribelle, Jacob, Abigail, Joseph, Evelina, James, Declan, Amelia, Lucy, Ben, Theo, Eli & Daisy; sisters-in-law Ellen Simpson, Adrianna (Charles) Ball and Julie (John) Williams; brother-in-law Pete (Nancy) Medema; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Marc was a graduate of SUNY Geneseo, where he met his wife, Mary. After graduating, he was drafted into the US Army and served in active duty before joining the reserves, and later, the National Guard until his retirement. Marc helped lead several Army Division and National Guard bands both as a conductor and a Clarinetist. He was a big fan of the drum corps and bugle competition bands. Marc also enjoyed playing golf in several leagues over the years and was an avid collector of coins. Above all, Marc had a deep love for his family, all of whom will miss him dearly.
Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, November 13, 2025 from 5-7 PM at James R. Gray Funeral Home, 1530 Buffalo Road, Rochester, NY 14624. Interment, including Military Honors will begin at 10 AM on Friday, November 14, 2025 at Holy Ghost Cemetery, Coldwater Road, Rochester, NY 14624
