Margaret Krekich Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Margaret Krekich, a cherished aunt, sister and friend, who left us peacefully on July 20, 2025, at the age of 72.

Margaret was predeceased by her loving parents, George and Maria. She is survived by her devoted niece, Lona (Gary) Chilson, with whom she shared a deeply special bond, along with her beloved great nephew and niece, Dylan and Danielle (Jon). Also remembering Margaret are her sister, Sophie; her niece, Nikki (DJ); and great niece, Andrea (Garrett), in addition to many dear friends, former colleagues and her treasured family in Pignataro Maggiore, Italy.

Margaret's spirit was joyful and generous. She loved having fun with her family and enjoyed the many holidays she spent traveling to Arizona to be with them. Her kindness and loyalty left a lasting mark on everyone who knew her, and her endearing strong will was part of the charm that made her truly unforgettable.

A lifelong animal lover, Margaret had a particular fondness for elephants. In honor of her memory and her love for animals, the family kindly asks that donations be made to The Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee in lieu of flowers in her honor.

Margaret's warmth, laughter and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate to be a part of her life.

Please join us on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, from 4:00-6:00 at James R. Gray Funeral Home, 1530 Buffalo Road, Rochester 14624. Private Interment in Holy Sepulchre.
