Marilyn Raia-Gordon

Marilyn (Lyn) Raia-Gordon, age 84, passed away Thursday, November 28, 2024, with family by her side. Lyn was born June 28, 1940, in Bronx, N.Y., the daughter of Agnes (Fredrick) and Morris Geller. She is survived by her children Vincent (Amy) Raia of Victor, N.Y., and her daughter Marilyn (Scott) Soares of Waxhaw, N.C. and her grandchildren Alex, Nina, Billy and Jack. Lyn was predeceased by her son Roman V. Raia, and grandson Sean V. Raia.

Lyn moved to Mahopac, N.Y., in the late 1960's and raised her children there. She worked as a legal secretary and later in life was a home health aide, caring for the elderly. Lyn loved life and had a knack for making those around her feel special.  She had an eye for decorating, creating warm, inviting spaces filled with beauty and love. Lyn found joy in giving thoughtful gifts to her family and friends, each one carefully chosen to brighten their day and to remind them how deeply she cared. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, reading and cooking, but most of all, she loved her grandchildren and kept up with their lives and activities. 

A celebration of life will be held in Summer 2025 at a date and time to be announced. Condolences may be offered on the Tribute page.
