Marilyn “Mickey” Jean Schlosser (Vowles) passed away peacefully after a brief illness on January 25, 2026, at the age of 91 in Sweetwater, Tennessee. Born on January 8, 1935, she is predeceased by her loving husband, Ronald David Schlosser; her son, Kevin Charles (Linda) Schlosser; parents Frederick Simon Vowles & Marion Henrietta Vowles (Schott); sisters Lillian (Lloyd) Roberts, Janet Vowles, Maragaret (Eugene) Redick; brothers Simon (Dorothy) Vowles and Charles (Doreen) Vowles. Survived by her sons Kyle (Marie) Schlosser and Keith (Shelley) Schlosser; grandsons Scott Schlosser, Alexander (Emily) Schlosser, Peter (Lauren) Schlosser, Ryan Schlosser, Rex (Trevor) Schlosser; granddaughters Chelsea (Michael) Duerr and Courtney Schlosser; great-grandchildren Chloe, Charlie and McCain Duerr and Ella, Sofie, Grayson and Nora Schlosser; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mickey’s journey began at Thomas Edison Grammar School and graduated from Spencerport High School. She spent most of her working career as a devoted housewife and best Mom ever, managing to keep her three sons and husband on the right track. Early on she worked at Rochester Gas & Electric Company and later at Tops Market.
Throughout her life, Mickey cherished spending quality time with her entire family. She particularly enjoyed grand family gatherings, such as the Schott Family Reunion, and later, visiting with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her close friendships were also a source of immense joy for her. Additionally, she held a deep sense of pride in her service to the Gates Historical Society.
Friends and Family are invited to call on June 20, 2026, at a time to be determined, at James R. Gray Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, Mickey would be grateful if anyone wishing to make a donation could consider the Gates Historical Society (gateshistory.org).
