Mary Alice Guhin, 79, from Rochester, NY died suddenly on Thursday, March 26, 2026.
She is survived by her beloved wife of 32 years Deborah DePasquale, sister Teri Guhin Ayre, sister’s in-law Janet Guhin, Jane Bellucco, Marsha DePasquale, and Gail Hoesterey, and brothers David Guhin and Sean Guhin Bayner. In addition to her mother-in-law Betty Jane DePasquale, Mary is also survived by many wonderful nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Also mourning her loss are life-long family members Rosemary Grimes, Shirley Edwards, Shirley Kelley and Cheri Wilkinson, as well as a host of dear friends and acquaintances.
Mary was born in Montrose, Colorado. She moved to Upstate New York as an infant and spent most of her life in Albany, Syracuse and Rochester. A graduate of Albany State and Cornell University, Mary went on to have an illustrious career as a corporate citizen at, among others, Xerox Corporation and Unified Woman’s Healthcare.
Unified Woman’s Healthcare is a nationwide community of providers, operations specialists and leaders who impact every aspect of woman’s health. At Unified, as a Regional I.T. Security Assessor, Mary was actively involved in bringing onboard new customers as well as supporting existing customers. She genuinely enjoyed working with all her customers and co-workers.
Mary never retired and had no plans to do so.
Mary was endlessly curious about practically everything. She was a voracious reader, a student of humanity, brilliant and witty and always generous with her time and her resources. Mary was loyal to her friends and family; once you became a friend of Mary’s, you were a friend for life.
There is no plan for a Memorial Service at this time. A Celebration of Life event will occur sometime in the future.
Should you wish to contribute to Planned Parenthood of Central and Western New York, Inc., Rainbow Seniors ROC Inc., or Verona Street Animal Society in Mary’s memory, please feel free to do so.
