Melville "Mel" Love

Devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and true friend, passed on January 22, 2021 at age 97. Mel was born and raised in Rochester, NY and was the owner of Love's Jewelers, located in Westgate and Lyell Avenue Plazas for over 45 years. He was one of the first two charter members of the Gates-Chili Lions Club, where he was active for 69 years and was their longest serving member.

Mel enjoyed traveling, boating, water & snow skiing, deep sea fishing, golfing, swimming, gardening and any opportunity to have fun! He was caring, charitable and selfless to all whom he met. Mel is survived by his wife of 67 years, Frances; daughter Pam (Clifford) Orsburn of Tega Cay, SC; sons Jeffrey (Marion) Love and Tom (Joan) Plouffe; sister Marilyn (Ed) McDermott; grandchildren Todd & Terry (Kathy) Plouffe, Carrie (Jamie) Kennedy, Kyle (Sunnye) Orsburn; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
