With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Nancy Lee on January 3, 2025, at the age of 79. She leaves us after a life rich in kindness, adventure, and service, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Nancy was born on September 29, 1945, in Rochester, NY, to George and Marjorie Lee. She was known for her sense of humor, her remarkable ability to laugh at life's quirks, and her razor-sharp wit. Her offbeat humor brought joy to every room she entered, and her kindness touched countless lives.
Nancy dedicated 50 years to her career as a registered nurse, working in diverse areas of medicine such as the operating room, ICU, emergency care, home health, and acute care. Her unwavering commitment to her patients and her strong moral compass made her a fierce advocate. Nancy never hesitated to stand up for what was right, always putting her patients first with compassion and conviction.
Nancy's creative spirit found expression in quilting, a passion that brought her immense joy. She loved collecting fabrics and crafting intricate, vibrant designs, pouring her meticulous care and thoughtfulness into every stitch.
The last 25 years of her life were a fulfillment of a lifelong dream: traveling the world with boundless curiosity. Nancy marveled at the beauty of diverse cultures and landscapes, whether she was riding the Trans-Siberian Railway, climbing Machu Picchu, walking along the Great Wall of China, or exploring the charm of Holland, Finland, Switzerland, and South America.
One of Nancy's most remarkable gifts was her ability to form genuine connections with everyone she met. Even in her final months, she forged deep friendships with her new neighbors in Gates, NY, exemplifying her warmth and openness. Nancy will be remembered for her laughter, her adventurous spirit, and her dedication to others. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the love she gave so freely.
