Oliver Conway Obituary

In his 79th year, Oliver Philip Bartholomew Conway died suddenly, of heart failure, on November 28, 2021, at his home in Rochester, New York.

Oliver was born in Ballyshannon, Co. Donegal, Ireland on November 21, 1942.  He was the second youngest of 7 children to his parents Madge and Louis Conway. Oliver is pre deceased by his parents and his brothers: Tommy, Louis, Eugene, Ernie and Christopher and is survived by his only sister, Margot Conway of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.

Before coming to the USA, Oliver had a 10 year career in the RAF (UK) and subsequently immigrated to America, settling in upper New York State, where he met the love of his life, Betty.  Oliver is pre deceased by his beloved wife of almost 40 years, Betty Conway (nee Christopher) who, sadly passed away in 2015.  After working together for U-Haul, they enjoyed many years employed with Eastman Kodak Co. until their retirement.

Anyone who knew Oliver will remember his quiet manner, sense of humour, thoughtful opinions, dedication to his family and love of poetry, golf and fishing.  In the words of his many nieces and nephews "he was the coolest uncle". We are all mourning his loss across the globe.  Oliver leaves a huge hole in the heart of his family and friends and will be dearly missed.

There will be celebrations of Oliver's life across Canada, USA, Ireland, England and Spain.  Please remember him in your own personal way.
