Passed away on February 12, 2026, at age 70, after a brief illness.
He is predeceased by his parents Daniel and Lucile Doherty; brothers-in-law Kevin Breiner and Jay Wayda; sisters-in-law Carol Brown and Leslie Wayda; and nephew Paul J. Wayda.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years Connie Doherty; daughter Brittany Doherty; sister Kathleen Breiner; sister-in-law Renee Fromm; brothers-in-law Jack, Kevin, and Paul (Cyndi) Wayda; several nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
He was a devoted husband and father, and being a loving father to his only child was a role that meant everything to him. His nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews held a special place in his heart, and he rarely missed a chance to cheer them on and celebrate their lives. He found quiet happiness farming his land, being out on the water, and traveling to make memories with those he loved. He lived with steady strength, a generous heart, and a deep love for his family. Those who knew him will carry his warmth, his example, and his love with them always and will remember his remarkable storytelling.
