Peter Throumoulos Obituary

Peter passed away peacefully at home on July 14, 2020. He is predeceased by wife Mary Elizabeth (Kober) and parents Violette and Louis Throumoulos. He is survived by sons Matthew (Maureen) Throumoulos and Phillip (Tara) Throumoulos; grandchildren Michael, Morgan, Teagan, Madeleine, Liam and Lia; brothers James (Susan) Throumoulos and Basil (Anne Marie) Throumoulos; nieces & nephews.

Pete was an iconic figure in the 19th Ward of Rochester, NY as an employee growing up, and then long-time owner and operator of Louie's Sweet Shoppe, a 19th Ward institution. Thousands of families and friends were warmly welcomed in for an ice cream, handmade chocolates or a meal by the proud proprietor. Pete's charm, wonderful gregariousness and always-on-point handlebar mustache is what people remember most about Louie's.

Pete loved family, especially his grandchildren, visiting the Adirondacks, fishing in Florida and had an unstoppable work ethic that he passed on to his children. He will be missed by everyone he touched during his rich life.
