Ralph Peter Spezio

Ralph Peter Spezio, a loving father, music teacher, talented musician, and cherished member of two Rochester faith communities, passed away on May 5, 2026, at the age of 96.

Born on June 7, 1929, in Rochester, New York, Ralph was the son of Peter Spezio and Catherine Fantuzzo. He grew up in Rochester, served in the Air Force until the start of the Korean War, and attended Boston University on the GI Bill, graduating with a degree in Music Studies. 

Over the years, he built a life defined by deep faith, kindness, and compassion, leaving a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.

Ralph is survived by his children - Michael, Natalie and Mary Kathleen - who will remember him for his loving ways, positivity, and musical abilities. His presence will be deeply missed in their lives.

In addition to his children, he is survived by his cousins.

Ralph had several passions: composing musical scores, playing different musical instruments, engaging in Bible study, and walking a few miles into town to satisfy his sweet tooth for ice cream. Friends and family will remember him for his steadfast efforts to stay connected.

A memorial service will be held on June 1 at 2:30 PM at Congregation Shema Yisrael, 250 Edgewood Avenue, Rochester, NY. 

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Ann’s Foundation. 

Ralph's legacy of gentleness, unwavering faith, and optimism will be long remembered by all those who knew him.
