Rashod Lamar King

Rashod L. King 47, passed away peacefully on July 23rd, 2026 after battling an unexpected illness. He fought courageously in his final moments.  Rashod was born on June 9th, 1979 in Brockport, NY.  He is survived by his children; son, Rashod L. King II, daughter, Nakia K. (Taylor) Cerasia, son, Dakari K. King and daughter, Braeliah F. King; his mother Rhonda F. (Shawn) Latimer; brother, Shawn Latimer II; girlfriend, Crystal Calkins; aunts, Charlaine (Cleveland) Anderson and Kathryn (George) Boley; uncles, James (Maureen) Williams and Kenneth (Theresa) King. He was known by many as "Shod." He shared many memories with cousins, friends and all those he considered extended family. He was a proud father and father figure, loving son, and amazing friend. Everywhere he went, he ran into somebody he knew.

Rashod King was predeceased by his grandmother Peggie L. King; grandfather, Franklin R. King; father, George R. Miller; aunt, Donna Manuel; aunt, Lynnette Manuel; uncle, Mark King and cousin, Todd Boley. Shod will be remembered by all those he built connections with during his lifetime. He had a sense of humor that made everyone laugh and he was known on social media as a comedian.  He had a smart mouth and never held back when telling someone exactly what was on his mind. He was a man with a huge heart who was cherished by all who knew him well. He had a smile that brightened up any room.

He worked for many years at Timber Ridge Golf Club as the head chef and loved to cook. He considered them family.  He enjoyed writing, recording and performing music with the music group HEXX along with many other local artists.  He went by the stage name “Stickla” and produced music under his own Studio 11.

His memory will live on through every life he touched, it’s those moments that count.  Everyone is deeply saddened that his time here on earth was so short.  He will be thought of and missed dearly forever. Arrangements have been made by Timber Ridge Gold Club alongside his family to invite all who knew Shod to a Celebration of Life to be held on August 21st, 2026 beginning at 12 pm, located at 7061 W. Ridge Road, Brockport NY 14420.  Please bring any photos or stories you would like to share.
