Raymond Peter Conway, affectionately known as Peter Hunt, of Rochester, New York, passed away unexpectedly on March 23, 2025, at the age of 70. Born in Utica, New York, on April 18, 1954, he was the beloved son of Lela Hunt and Roland Conway, both of whom predeceased him.
A talented songwriter with royalties from his work, Peter had a profound love for music, particularly the soulful sounds of Al Green. He also enjoyed watching Western shows and was a dedicated fan of the Buffalo Bills. As a devoted family man, Peter made it a daily ritual to send good morning texts, sharing his love and warmth with his family even on the toughest days.
Peter is survived by his children, Elizabeth Lanaux and Latoya Lawrence, and his cherished grandchildren, Ariyah, Jordyn, Princess, Sy'Air, Melody Dominique, and Dominick. He is also survived by his brother Eugene in California, brother Donald, and a host of nieces, nephews, and loved ones.
He was preceded in death by his siblings: Geraldine, Lou-Bertha, Janie, Earline, Mary-Ann, Ronald, and Audrey, all of whom deeply impacted his life.
Peter Hunt's spirit will be profoundly missed by all who knew him. His legacy of love, music, and family will forever echo in our hearts. Rest in peace, Peter. Your song will continue to play.
