Richard “Dick” Reynolds Obituary

Richard ("Dick") Reynolds, age 78 of East Rochester, passed away peacefully at home on January 23rd, 2025 after a courageous battle with leukemia.
Dick was born September 25, 1946 in Walton County, Georgia, second of 5 sons. After moving to Phelps, NY
as a child, he returned south, attending 71st High School in Fayetteville, North Carolina where he lead their
baseball team to the state championships in 1964, finding local praise as a stylish, yankee, right-handed
pitcher with a strong arm and a witty curveball. He then served as a sergeant in the US Marine Corps during the
Vietnam era. After his service, he worked an assortment of jobs until finding a career path in bookbinding in
Rochester, NY. He moved to Binghamton, NY when he was hired at Vail-Ballou Press, eventually starting his
own business - Reynolds Book Bindery - with his wife Jody.
He was charming, witty and kind. Always an avid motorcyclist and member of the "Wild Johnson Brothers" MC, he
enjoyed travelling, motorcycle or not, from the Floriday Keys to Baja Peninsula and Europe and spent many
summers in Cape May, NJ. In 2010, he sold his business and enjoyed retirement. In 2019, he and Jody moved
back to Rochester to be close to family.
He is survived by his wife, Jody; his children, Kimberly (Scott), Gregory and William; grandaughter, Gwendolyn;
brothers Stephen (Bonnie) and William (Carol); nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members along with
cherished friends from Phelps, Binghamton and Rochester.

Friends and family are invited to call on Friday, January 31, 2025 from 11 - 1PM at James R. Gray Funeral Home, 1530 Buffalo Rd. Rochester, NY 14624. Interment will be private.
