Died peacefully on June 2, 2022 surrounded by family, on his birthday at age 87. Originally from Saranac Lake, NY, Bob moved to Rochester to attend RIT, graduating in 1957. He Began his career at Eastman Kodak, spending 30 years as a chemical engineer And 10 years at Xerox where he earned a patent related to print head manufacturing.
Bob enjoyed sailing his boat out of Pultneyville Yacht Club and later building and flying model planes. He enjoyed spending time with friends. He loved music and nature. He also skied, biked and kayaked well into his 80’s.
Bob is predeceased by his wife Judy and brother Alvin. He is survived by children Susan (Paul) Reuter, Andrew (Marty) White, Gregory (Kristi Steed) White; grandchildren Kerri (Jesse) Palermo, Steven Reuter, Nolan White, and great granddaughter Brynn Palermo; brother Chuck (Gloria) Gifford; cousin Sandy Tombs; several nieces and nephews and many friends.
Bob never forgot his humble beginnings and enjoyed living frugally. He quietly gave generously to several charities and donated his body to science.
Per Bob’s wishes he will be returned to nature at his favorite childhood fishing hole near Saranac Lake. Services and interment will be private. Kindly consider a donation to Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center in Bob’s memory.
