Robert George Hoffman, age 82, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2025, at his Florida home, where he spent many cherished winter months.
Born and raised in the city of Rochester, Robert attended Holy Apostle and continued on to Edison High School, where he went on to build a lifelong career in the automotive industry. He was a longtime employee of Schnabel's Auto Parts before proudly founding and operating Bob Hoffman Auto Sales beginning in 1964. Known affectionately by many as "Cadillac Bob," Robert earned a reputation for hard work, honesty, and a friendly presence that left a lasting impression on all who knew him—especially along Buffalo Road, where he became a familiar and respected figure.
Robert is survived by his partner of 45 years, Darlene Printy; his children Debbie Canton (Robert Bounds), Janet Guido, and David (Laura) Hoffman; his brother Jack (Alice) Hoffman; as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense pride and joy.
He was preceded in death by his parents Norbert and Bernadette Hoffman.
Robert was an extraordinary man whose warmth, generosity, and steady presence will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the many lives he touched throughout the years.
Formal services and interment will be private. A Celebration of Life will be planned for a later date. Kindly consider making a donation Golisano Children's Hospital in Bob's memory.
