Suddenly on August 6, 2023. She is predeceased by her sons Laverne Hailey and Timothy Smith; parents Mr. & Mrs. Messenger; as well as her brother Roger Messenger. Ruth is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Philip Smith; son Adam Smith; sisters Mary Ellen and Frances; brother Louis Messenger; many nieces, nephews and friends.
Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, August 14, 2023 from 5-7 PM at James R. Gray Funeral Home, 1530 Buffalo Road, Rochester, NY 14624. Interment will be private.
