Sherman Motley Obituary

Sherman Motley, age 71, was called home on Friday, February 21st, 2025. He was born in Selma, Alabama to Arthur Motley Jr. and Alberta Banks. Sherman died of natural causes.

Sherman was raised in Buffalo, NY, attended and graduated Burgard High School. Sherman confessed Christ at an early age and joined the Promised Land Baptist Church. Sherman found employment in Rochester, NY. He gained various skills and knowledge before finishing out his career with Zimmer Sales and Services Corp on Hudson Ave, in Rochester. He often talked about the various businesses that he had to opportunity to do a job with Zimmer Sales at.

A die-hard Buffalo Bills fan, Sherman loved his sports. Any given season you would find Sherman watching the latest game or recaps of his favorite teams. He loved to sport his Bills team gear. Sherman enjoyed cooking for friends and family. Sherman could be found at his grill when the weather allowed barbequing and talking with those who stopped by for a plate.

He will be missed by all. He is proceeded in death by his father Arthur Motley Jr., his twin brother Herman Motley, and declared stepson Earvin Kincy. Sherman leaves behind his long-time girlfriend, Daisy Kincy, of 48 years, his sons: Claude Wilby, Gilbert Motely, Jermell Motley, and Louis Motely of Buffalo, NY, two step-sons: James Denegall of Rochester, NY and Alexander (Tabitha) Denegal of Syracuse, NY, his beloved mother, Alberta Motley, step-father Jesse Banks, his brother Patrick (Ann) Banks, and sister Cheryl (Andre) McRucker all of Buffalo, NY. His step-grand and great children along with nieces and nephews from both Buffalo and Rochester will mourn his loss.
