Stephen C. Braund, 66, passed away on September 8, 2025, in Rochester, New York. Born on April 30, 1959, in the same city he called home, Steve leaves behind a legacy marked by creativity, resilience, and a deep well of kindness.
He is survived by his daughter, Emily Bonsignore; mother, Nancy Braund; three siblings and many nieces and nephews. Steve was predeceased by his father, John Braund.
A gifted woodworker and passionate musician, Steve found joy and expression through his hands and heart. He loved playing guitar at open mic nights at Murph's Pub, tinkering away on projects and listening to all types of music, (esp. the Grateful Dead)
Steve also fought a relentless battle against addiction. Those who knew him take peace in knowing that he is no longer in pain and remember him not only for that battle but for his kind heart, keen sense of humor and many talents.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Trillium Health Harm Reduction Services in Steve Braund's name. This organization helps those struggling with substance use to get connected with life-saving resources.
