Victor Juan Rivera Muñiz

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Victor Juan Rivera Muñiz, who departed this world peacefully on March 27, 2026, in Rochester, NY, at the age of 85. Victor was a true force of nature—a man who moved through life with unwavering kindness and a deep well of compassion for everyone he met.

Born on May 16, 1940, in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, and raised in the mountains of Utuado, Victor was the beloved son of Victor Rivera and Rosa Muñiz. Throughout his life, he was a man of many talents and a tireless worker. Whether he was operating machinery, working in construction, or providing vital maintenance, he brought a steady hand to everything he touched. Perhaps most telling of his character was his time spent caring for mental health patients, a role that perfectly reflected his innate desire to help those in need.

To know Victor was to know a man who put family above all else. When he wasn't spending quality time with those he loved, he could often be found cheering on his favorite wrestlers—a hobby that brought him much joy. Victor had a rare gift: he made every person he spoke to feel like they were the most important person in the room.

Victor’s legacy of love and service lives on in the hearts of his family and friends. We will remember his spirit every time we see a sunset over the beach, a reminder of the warmth he brought to our lives.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Isabel; his children, Andrew, Elizabeth, and Victor; and his cherished grandchildren, Richard, Katherine, Christian, Soraya, and Denzel.
