Passed away at the age of 90, on March 17, 2023, at the NY Veterans Home in Batavia. William was born on December 16, 1932 in DeKalb, NY and most recently resided in Ontario, NY. He was awarded the Purple Heart after his service in the US Army during the Korean War.
He is predeceased by his wife Loretta May Allen of 55 years; parents Frank and Elizabeth (Farmer-Theatre); brothers Hank & Leonard; sisters Betty & Barb; grandson Christopher Allen jr. and stepson George Marvin. William is survived by his children, Laurie (Scott) McMahon, Carolyn Lancaster, William R. Allen Jr., Christopher Allen Sr., Elaine (Steve) Wengender, Christine Allen, Francis (Alice) Allen & Cheyenne Sr.(Pam) Allen; stepchildren Vada Lytle & Cherie Moore; grandchildren Mac, Julia "Jewels", Hannah, Emily (Bryce), Dominic (Holly), Marina (Kyle), Nicolas, Selena, Cassandra (Ryan), Brandon (Abby), Richard (Megan), William, Laura, Saranne, Dawayne (Jessica) Brittany, Brandy, Amy, Angela, Elizabeth, Francis Jr., Joshua, Destinee (Jonathan), Amy, Cheyenne Jr., great grandchildren Ellie May, Jetson, Kaleb, Caspen, Miya, Thea, Leo, Kate, JoJo, Kameron, Majestic Rose, Isabella, Benjamin,; great great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, March 23 from 4-6 PM at James R. Gray Funeral Home. Interment will be planned for the summer in Webster Rural Cemetery where Military Honors will be rendered.
