William E. Strope, 57, succumbed to lymphoma on August 6, 2024.
He is survived by his mother, Bonnie Strope of Canisteo; sisters Debra (Steven) Jakobi of Alfred Station and Rebecca Seger of Canisteo; nieces and nephews; ex-partner Evan Gelder, with whom he maintained a special bond; and his beloved feline companion, Mazy.
Possessing a brilliant mind and a dynamic personality, William worked as a "creative" -- a DJ, photographer and entertainment producer, as well as a graphic/web designer and video producer, skills which were self-taught. Later, he graduated from the Onondaga School of Therapeutic Massage and built and maintained a successful massage therapy business. Fueled by his own curiosity and enthusiasm, he loved being a curator of entertainment and introduced friends to many delights they would not have otherwise known.
There will be no calling hours or memorial service.
Friends wishing to make a memorial donation, please consider Mr. Grey’s Strays, 18 East Ave., Brockport, NY 14420, or a charity of your choosing.
