GREEN BURIAL OPTIONS

Many people are conscious about the environmental impact their lifestyle creates, leading them to consider what kind of impact their death may have as well. A Green Burial offers simplicity and sustainability. The James R. Gray Funeral Home is a proud advocate of Green Burials and eco-friendly funeral products.

A Green Burial is actually a tradition dating back thousands of years before the need for preservation and restoration became mainstream during the 19th Century. The shift back toward this form of burial comes from the desire to reduce funeral expenses, conserve natural resources, eliminate hazardous materials, simplify the process and preserve natural areas.

A meaningful, eco-conscious Green Burial by James R. Gray Funeral Home can cost as low as $2,030.* There are many options that we offer to accompany this type of burial including visitation at the funeral home, memorial services and more. Please feel free to contact us or visit the funeral home to learn more about how we can assist you in making the right decision for you and your family.

* Price does not include cemetery fees or burial container

When you compare Funeral Homes, consider the following…

  • Is the funeral home an established part of the community? A funeral firm that has been owned & operated by the same family for decades has likely been doing things the right way, and knows the people whom they serve. Our firm has been owned by James R. Gray for over 30 years and the tradition will continue through his son, Michael J. Collins for many years to come.
  • Not all funeral providers are willing to post their actual prices online. We believe transparency in pricing is important for people to make informed decisions. You will find the prices for all of our services by clicking the link to our General Price List in the menu.
  •  It is important to ask what the cost would be for the services you require, like visitation, arrangements and embalming; as well as what the costs might be for merchandise, such as, caskets, vaults, urns and printed materials. Often, the firm advertising the cheapest prices isn’t telling the whole story when it comes to their merchandise.
  • How will the important events that are arranged be handled? Funerals must be planned and carried out with meticulous attention to detail. Will calling hours be supervised by Licensed Funeral Directors? Will the owner of the firm be present for the Arrangement Conference, Funeral Mass or Graveside Service?
  • Does the firm have an understanding of your needs and wishes? It is important that the firm be knowledgeable in the traditions and customs of many different cultures and be up-to-date with all of the latest advances in the industry.
